Hi
Just wondered from anyone who has been to Japan, what the best time of year to visit is to see the cherry blossom? Spring? April? I know it probably varies from region to region but any hints would be great
Also is it true that they make cherry blossom ice cream in the spring? Anyone tasted it?
Thanks

Hi
I have not been to Japan but I am looking into travelling next April and this is the month to travel if you wish to see the cherry blossom. After making enquiries I beleive the weather will be pleasant during the day but will get cold in the evening. Dont know about the ice cream but if I am lucky enough to go I will be sure to try some
Hope that helps
Pam
We were also thinking of travelling next April so I guess the timing seems right for the cherry blossom

Hi firefly,
I have it from a Japan resident that they have heard of cherry blossom ice cream but have never tried it - so you might be in luck! It's worth asking about this once you are there.
Have a great time if you book this trip,
Best wishes

April
I was out there at the start of April and the timing was just right for Kyoto. Lovely to see, but massively crowded and the peak of the peak season is not a fun time to book hotels.
One travel company keeps writing to me about their Cherry Blossom tour in September!! - now with a nice discount. Presumably the discount is for the tour being a few months late?
