Greetings
I am considering doing the Road to Kathmandu in June/July 2012. Is this trip affected at all by the monsoon season? I would also appreciate the comments/tips of anyone else who had done it at this time of year as to what to take in the line of clothes etc etc.
Thanks
Adrian

Hello Adrian,
Thank you for your post. The itinerary won't be varied because of the monsoon season but it will be very humid as the rains will be coming up from the South of India in June/July.
I did this trip in reverse at the beginning of June last year and we had quite a few thunderstorms but it was very hot.
I would take lots of light weight clothes (cotton shirts, sandals/flip flops) and a waterproof lightweight jacket with you and perhaps a few layers for the evening when it can get a bit cooler, especially in Nepal where you are at higher altitude.
I hope this helps. Kind Regards, Alex

Thanks Alex - much appreciated.

We did an Imaginative Traveller trip to Nepal last year, had a great time. Kathmandu is a very interesting place to visit, one thing I would say though is be prepared for early nights. The city almost closes down completely by 9:30 latest. Nothiing is open after that time so plan your day accordingly and have a great time!
