Footsteps of the Incas with the Inca Trail in September 2010?

Just wondered if anyone has been on this trip and what they thought of it? Also what the weather will be like in September in the Amazon, Inca Trail and La Paz? Finally is it worth having an extra night in Lima at the beginning and one in La Paz at the end?

This is a great little - two-week trip which gives you a good taste of what's on offer in Peru. September is also a great time as it's still the dry season and is less busy and less cold than July/August. People's opinions of Lima seem to differ but I think it's definitely worth an extra day before the tour. And La Paz is also worth an extra day after the tour - especially if you want to do the thrilling Death-road mountain bike ride.
