Hi,
Very excited about the trip starting this weekend! Anyone else going to the hotel the night before then do get in touch.
Just wanted to get some advice from anyone who has been to Peru. I have just recently bought a digital slr which is much more expensive than my old compact I am used to carrying. With the additional lens it is quite big and bulky.
I am just wondering about other people's experiences of taking an expensive camera on trips in Peru, whether you felt safe leaving it in the hotel rooms at night or whether it is going to a burden or a joy..!
I'd be grateful for feedback,
Jo

Hi Jo
Hopefully other group members will get in touch with you over the forum about arriving early.
Many of our travellers bring SLR cameras on our tours, I would say about half, and get along fine with them. The hotels we use in South America have good reputations as far as safety is concerned.
Your tour leader will be able to brief you about any other general safety aspects during the tour.
Have a great trip
David
