Re: Best Time of Year to Visit Vietnam & Cambodia?

Hey Albert,

Thanks for your post.

November to February is widely regarded as the best time to Vietnam, during which the weather is dry and pleasant, with temperatures in Hanoi averaging in the 70s and Ho Chi Minh city in the 80s. The rainy season affects the north between October and March and the south from May to late November, with typhoons affecting Vietnam from July to November. Generally the timing of our tours reflect the best times to visit the country in particular. As for Fanspian Mountain, I personally do not know about the details, however I will endeavour to find our for you so watch this space. Flights from Vietnam to Cambodia are fairly frequent and this is something your booking agent can look into when you come to planning your trip.

I hope this helps and please do not hesitate in contacting me should you require further assistance.

Kind Regards,

Robert

Hey Albert,

Thanks for your post.

Further to what I wrote above, it terms of rainfall, the average is 307mm and it is hot and humid. As for the typhoons, they are tropical cyclones with winds greater than 74 mph and whilst these may change in severity and frequency each year, I cannot imagine them to ever be pleasant. I really cannot comment any further about this, and so if anyone can help me out, it would be most appreciated.

All the best,

Robert

There's an important quote in that article:
Chinese officials described it as the worst typhoon to strike the province in decades.
That's a bit like linking to pics of Hurricane Katrina if someone was thinking of going to Louisiana on holiday. Typhoons are just tropical storms. They rarely cause damage on that scale.
