Big cat adventure holidays 'are magnificent'

Britons who want to get among the unique wildlife in Africa might be interested in a new tour from Imaginative Traveller.

According to the company, explorers may find themselves inspired by the African Lion and Environmental Research Trust (Alert), which is to appear in a new television series documenting its efforts to reverse the decline of lions.

Alert is a non-profit organisation that aims to create a relationship with all sectors of African society in order to address the problem of dwindling wild lion numbers through sustainable conservation management.

Zimbabwe is home to many nature reserves, but the programme will focus on Antelope Park, which is one of the only places in the world where visitors can take up the opportunity of walking with the creatures.

This is on offer on Imaginative Traveller's Wild Africa tour, with a stroll with the big felines being on the itinerary following a visit to the Great Zimbabwe Ruins.

Adventure-bound explorers may also be interested in the trip, given that it culminates in a visit to Victoria Falls for bungy jumping and other adrenaline-fuelled activities.
