Cuba tours could offer 'the right balance'

Monday, February 08, 2010

Travellers who like to soak up local culture on their holidays could find that a Cuba tour to Havana is the perfect idea for their next trip.

Writing for the Daily Mail, Joanna Tweedy explained that the "charming" destination has plenty to offer imaginative explorers.

She stated that the location has "just the right mix of culture and kickback time", with Old Havana offering "faded elegance" with "internal courtyards, grandiose buildings, brightly painted colonial architecture and perfectly preserved squares seemingly around every corner".

At the same time, the coast is perfect for those who simply want to soak up the sun and relax on a picturesque beach, she advised.

In addition, Ms Tweedy said that travellers should check out the iconic Malecon - the city's sea wall - and take time to visit the three other sections of the city, Centro Havana, Miramar and Vedado.

According to Lonely Planet, Las Terrazas, Vinales and Varadero are must sees when heading to Cuba.
