The stunning Langtang Valley lies to the north of Kathmandu and sees fewer trekkers than the Annapurna or Everest regions. In Autumn expect to see superb views of the great peak of Langtang Lirung (7246m), while in spring this is an ideal route for those interested in birds and flowers. Both seasons allow you to reach the glaciers below Langtang Lirung and climb Kyanjin Ri or Tsergo Ri for some magnificent panoramas.
Langtang & Gosainkund
Our return takes us past the spectacular holy lake at Gosainkund, an important place of pilgrimage, and across the Laurebena Pass to the end of the trek in the gentler region of Helambu.

Trip Itinerary
- Day1 Start Kathmandu.
- Day2 Drive to Syabrubensi.
- Day3-4 Ascend through bamboo and rhododendron forests to Langtang.
- Day5 Trek further up the valley to Kyanjin Gompa below Langtang Lirung.
- Day6 Optional trek to Kyanjin Ri (4300m) or Tsergo Ri (4984m).
- Day7-8 Descend the Langtang Valley to Syabru.
- Day9 Climb up to Sing Gompa.
- Day10 Spectacular ridge walk to Gosainkund Lakes.
- Day11 Cross the Laurebena Pass (4610m).
- Day12-13 Descend the Helambu Valley to Chisopani.
- Day14 Drive to Kathmandu.
- Day15 End Kathmandu.
